MTF - 16th National Kyorugi Competitions June 2008
The MTF held its 16th National Kyorugi Competitions on Sunday 8 June at St.Martin's College, Swatar. In all there were 20 competitors where 7 of them derived from our club that out of which was the only club that had senior athletes competing.
The senior category was won by Jonathan Aristhene who is originally from Mauritius and living in Monaco and Serge iDominici placed second. Lynsey Fenech won her category and Jesred Piscopo ended second in his category.
The club management would like to thank all participants and especially to the winner who made a name for the club. Mr. Jonathan Aristhene was presented with a small memento by the President of the MTF for his help and assitance to the national team.
TDC - Grading Report 28 May 2008
The TDC conducted the second grading examinations for its kids' class on Wednesday 28 May at its training premises in Swatar. In all there were 12 students hwo underwent the test. Duncan Munro achieved the highest percentage mark.

TDC - Grading Report 30 April 2008
The TDC conducted a grading promotion test on 30 April 2004 at its training premises at St. Martin's College, Swatar.
All 4 applicants were tested on their basic curriculum and all passed to their successive rank.

Pierre Tonna - Yellow Tab
Jurgen Sammut - Yellow Belt
Davinia Abilla obtained the highest total mark.
National Poomsae Competition
The Malta Taekwondo Federation held a National Poomsae Competition on Sunday 4th May at the St Martin's College Gym in Swatar and athletes from the local Taekwondo clubs participated fully in this event.
The winners of this competition were : Jamie Farrugia, Lynsey Fenech, Maria Minuti, Irina Atanasova, Davinia Abdilla, Amanda Schembri and Emmanuel Schembri.
The federation also announced the winning design for the MTF mascot that will be featured alongside the MTF logo on all stationery,Website and promotion activities and was won by Joel Genuis from the St Martin's Taekwondo Academy.
Dr Chris Vella who holds the highest dan rank in Malta & recently won a poomsae competition in europe gave a seminar to the higher belts after this event and was instrumental in the organisation of the judging together with other judges which form part of the technical committee.
The MTF President Mr Steve Formosa expressed his satisfaction at the level of this event which will be held annually and also thanked the management of St Martin's College & the main sponsor NIBE Beverages for their support to make this competition as success.
Promotion Test Report – 30 January 2008
The Taekwondo Dragon Club held its first promotion tests for this year at St. Martin's College on Wednesday 30 January. Promotion tests were conducted in two separate sessions differing the kids from seniors. All were tested accordingly to the technical syllabus of the Malta Taekwondo Federation. The following are all who made it through their new respective rank:
Yellow Tab (9th Kup): Dane & Duncan Munro, Jurgen Sammut, Chloe Vassallo, Ryan Wood and Anton Xuereb
Yellow Belt (8th Kup): Svetlana Ebejer, Logan Formosa and Jesred Piscopo
Green Tab (7th Kup): Kieran Turner Borg, Jack Cassar, Angelica Ebejer and Derek Fenech
Green Belt (6th Kup): Andy Attard and Justin Pisani
Blue Tab (5th Kup): Gabriel Borg
Blue Belt (4th Kup): Irinna Ivelinova Atanasova
Black Tab (1st Kup): David Scicluna
Sicily Competition During the period of 14-17 December the Taekwondo Dragon Club had 6 athletes participating in a friendly competition that took part in Mazara del Vallo in Sicily.The selected athletes joined the rest of the Maltese contingent where athletes and officials participated in a Saturday morning session conducted by Maestro Vito Marino together with other local athletes.
Later in the afternoon the Maltese athletes were engaged in friendly bouts. Keith Caruana and Lynsey Fenech won their respective bout. Both Ian Caruana and Josef Spiteri had a very close win. Both of them gave a very good performance.
On Saturday Mr. Formosa presented a plaque of commemoration to Maestro Marino. On Sunday all were invited to attend a show at a local theatre. Mr. Formosa was presented with a memento by the president of Società 2000 and a set of books together with a replica of a dancing satyr by the local mayor.
All this was possible after Mr. Formosa has re-established contacts with Maestro Marino earlier last year. click here to view gallery
