Taekwondo Dragon Club had participated in the 12th British International Open Championships that were held on the 12th July 2009 in Crawley UK. The club was represented by Mauro Busuttil where he competed in the category Seniors -72Kgs Class C. This was his first experience competing abroad. He obtained an excellent result where he grabbed the gold medal of his category.

Other athletes:- Josef Spiteri; Irina Atanasova; Lynsey Fenach and Jesred Piscopo, students of our club have also competing as members of the Malta Taekwondo Federation National team under the direction and supervision of the National coach, Mr. Brian Saliba.

Irina Atanasova brought a silver medal in her category Seniors female - 47Kg Class B.

The rest did well but did not manage to win a medal where Jesred Piscopo had the first occasion ever participating in a foreign competition.
