Promotion Test

grading table Taekwondo has its own grading system, as in many other martial art styles. Examinations are usually held every 3/4 months or otherwise as per the examiner/s discretion.

In order for the student to qualify for the promotion test he/she shall:

* Attend a minimum of 50% of the sessions from the last promotion test.
* Have a lapse of minimum period required as stated in the syllabus.
* Settle all memberhsip and other fees.

To succeed for the next level, the student shall obtain 60% of the total mark. During the promotion test, one is tested on different aspects of the art such as: basic techniques, patterns, step-sparring, breaking and competition sparring, where accuracy and control play important roles through out the examination.

The ranking system is divided into ‘Kups’ starting from 10th Kup (White Belt) to 1st Kup (Black Tab), followed by 9 Black Belt levels known as 'Dans'. Dans (Black Belts) syllabus is as per the criteria set by the technical board of the Malta Taekwondo Federation, according to the Kukkiwon's rules and regulations.
